Life changes quickly. On Saturday, June 27, 2026, my life changed in an instant when I found my husband dead on the couch in the morning.
My beloved husband Jan Andersson died of acute heart failure.
We had been married for 40 years and were going to celebrate in our cottage in the outermost sea belt on the Hälsinge coast in connection with starting our vacation that same day.
I had photographed for 12 hours the day before when Nina & Jesper Thornberg got married, I came home after midnight and went to bed. When I woke up, life as I felt it was over.
I have been a photographer my whole life, and now my profession means more than ever to me.
Now a new life begins with my Leica.
Nina has been my personal trainer for many years, she has made sure that my body is kept moving, I will continue to photograph as long as I can hold my Leica. She has also posed as a model when I wanted to make a photograph that ties together what I try to express when I photograph bodies and horses, that photograph is included in my exhibition AN EYE FOR AN EYE which runs until November 1, 2026 at beautiful Smådalarögård.
When she married Jesper, they hired me to capture the whole wedding story, here is a little first glimpse.
