Once a year, the second weekend in June, there is a ”Drop in wedding” at Skansen. There are hundreds of bridal couples who comes to Tingsvallen to get married.

There are marriage ceremonies in 14 wedding venues at Tingsvallen. There is also a champagne bar, a singer and musicians. Groups of families and friends have picnic and the air is filled with colorful balloons confetti and soap bubbles. I feel high in love and am ready to photograph those who want to have beautiful memories in my flower bows. Me and my assistant get some hectic and incredibly fun hours behind our cameras.

We photograph gay couples, wedding couples with children, some couples are so young that I wonder if their parents know they are here getting married. Bridal couples from different cultures and communities, yes a cross section of Sweden’s population. When I get home in the evening, I’m completely exhausted and euphoric.

Two weeks after the wedding we deliver beautiful pictures and enlargements to the newly married couple. Imagine that my pictures are in hundreds of homes in Sweden, feels really nice to think about.

This is definitely one of the highlights of the year, and I’m so happy and grateful for the cooperation with Skansen that has been going on for almost 10 years. I often get thank-you letters and emails from happy couples. It feels wonderful to be part of all this.
